A Course in Mindfulness with ACT is an introduction to mindfulness trainings and how they work with Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). The course considers new ways to respond to stress and to increase psychological flexibility so that one may reach their personal goals.
A Course in Mindfulness includes a private pre-class one-hour interview and eight weekly two-hour classes from 9 – 11am on Saturdays. The cost is $125. No one is turned away for lack of funds. Classes will be held at 223 South Walnut Avenue in Ames at Central Iowa Psychological Services.

The remainder of the course cost – $75 – is due at the beginning of the first class. If a payment plan is needed please discuss this with the instructor in advance. No one will be turned away for lack of funds.
Withdrawals from the course after the first class receive a refund of 50% of the course cost. Withdrawals after the second receive 25% of the course cost. No refunds are made after the third class.
Dr. Warren Phillips is a licensed Psychologist that uses ACT for children, adolescents, adults, families and couples in his practice at CIPS.
Eric Daishin McCabe (MDiv Equivalency) is a certified Zen and Yoga Teacher, and Chaplain with 22 years experience practicing mindfulness.
