Prison Practice

“I was in prison, and you visited me.”  (Matt 25:37)

Daishin leads meditation, Trauma Sensitive Yoga,  Buddhist practices as well as providing chaplaincy services to the men at Fort Dodge Prison once a month.  Inmates are some of the most marginalized members of our society and are desperately in need of contact with the outside world in a way that shows that someone cares about them.  You can offer your support to the men by helping to fund some of the needs at Fort Dodge Prison.

A special thanks to Saeed Tokhi and Vicki Goldsmith for providing a meditation bell and Buddha statue.

The men are still in need of the following things:

Mediation Cushions

Zabutons (flat cushions for underneath the meditation cushions)

Yoga mats

Cost of mileage round trip for 136 miles per visit (approximately $70 per visit)

Email Daishin if you’d like to make an offering, or simply designate a donation to Fort Dodge Prison.
